Day 4

Seems whatever higher power that is, has a sense of humor. Today, poor Fion woke up sick and had lost her voice....so now there are two of us in the house making grunt sounds and pointing at stuff. We both logged onto MSN messenger and chat while sitting next to each other. I actually like this because the speed of the conversations are then not dictated by my inability to speak.

Today was the best day in regards to suffering. I woke up at 6am unable to breathe again and suffered until around 9am when for some unknown reason, my sinuses opened up. I was feeling great all day then as quickly as they opened, they closed again and I was suffering. My guess is the swelling is still stabilizing and since I switched over to heat packs today, my sinuses are getting pulled all directions.

I went through the pictures and although they are horrible, there isn't any blood or anything that would make someone sick. I will post the progression until today although no one day is better or worse than the other really. My color looks best today but I am as swollen as ever. Keep in mind that I effectively took a baseball bat to my entire lower face.

Hi, John and Fion! /hugs! I am sorry to hear you had such a hard time with those dumb nurses at the hospital. Glad you are home in good hands, although poor Fion is now sick. I am sure she's still taking better care of you than those darn nurses.

I hope that your sinuses quit acting up and just heal quickly as well as your jaws. I spoke with Fion at length on Tuesday evenign and she told me everything that took place (or most of everything). Glad you are home now. I am going to be in the same situation in a few months so i feel for you, I really really do and i am getting scared!

Well, since I am at work (wow...this reminds me of EQ all over again!) I gotta log off so I can begin another day of busy-ness!

Take care, I hope to see more pictures as you recover. Please give Fion a hug for me too and I will chat with you guys later.

/hugs

Hi Tanya,

Keep in mind that I probably had 3x what most have done a it was my upper jaw, both sides of lower jaw and resetting my chin.

I also am thinking that I happened to come down with a cold just after surgery which is very bad.

All along, the pain has been very manageable. The only problem is the panic of suffucating because your sinuses are closed and your lungs being congested yet you can't cough.

What are you having done exactly?

John and Fion, I have just caught up on the blogs since I just got back from Hawaii, and I must say you two are such troopers! I'm glad you're posting your progress and keeping us informed. How I wish I were in San Diego to be a helping hand to you both!
